An Ode to a Cheese Burger

A burger with no cheese

Is like:

A feat without soul

Genes with no trainers

A shirt without buttonholes

A full cleavage without shoals

A burger with no cheese

Is like:

A lounge with no chairs

A table with no cloth

A cupboard that’s been bare

Crockery with no flare

A burger with no cheese

Is like:

A pillow with no case

A  bench with no jury

A persona without trace

Voluminous without space

A burger with no cheese

Is like:

Life with no breath

An eye with no vision

A taste bud death

A sanctimonious chef

Although some vegetarians would be hard-pressed to read this, it’s really great fun.

They obviously haven’t heard the carrots screaming in the garden at night 🙂

I love this ~ just last week I returned back to the Pacific Northwest and had homemade hamburgers for dinner…and yes, as you say, cheese is a must. “A persona without trace, Voluminous without space” ~ and for good measure I slide a nice slice of onion between the burger and cheese just to celebrate being home again 🙂 This was a perfect ode, with perfect timing for me ~ made me smile.
